In Saudi Arabia, the air conditioning isn't a luxury — it's a survival essential. For EV owners, the AC system has an additional impact: it's one of the biggest drains on your battery. Here's how to maintain your EV's AC system and minimize its range impact.

Understanding the AC-range relationship: Your EV's AC can consume 2-5 kW of power depending on the outside temperature and your desired cabin temperature. On a 40°C+ Saudi summer day, this can reduce your range by 15-25%. Understanding this helps you plan your trips and charging accordingly.

Pre-conditioning is your secret weapon. Most modern EVs allow you to cool the cabin while still connected to the charger. This means the AC energy comes from the grid, not your battery. Use your vehicle's app to start cooling 10-15 minutes before you plan to drive. This single habit can save you 5-10% range on hot days.

Cabin filter replacement is critical in Saudi Arabia. The combination of desert dust, sand, and urban pollution clogs cabin filters faster than in most countries.
